Vintage Empire Style Brass Fluted Crystal Column Table Lamp 1970's , a Pair A vintage 1070's pair of Empire-style table lamps, each with a fluted crystal (or cut-glass) column shaft rising from a brass Corinthian-form capital to a stepped brass base cast with acanthus leaf and scrolling foliate motifs. The lamps stand on a concave (incurved) triangular plinth base, a hallmark Empire silhouette, with the whole raised on stylized paw feet. Each is fitted with a wide bell-form ivory silk shade with contrast trim, completing the neoclassical presentation. Wired for standard use. Complete with their original shades — wide bell-form (coolie) shades in ivory silk, finished with a fine contrast trim piping along the top and bottom edges and a small brass finial at the crown. The shades' generous flare balances the slender column base and softens the light nicely for a table or bedside setting.
